Second day in London included a trip to Notting Hills' Portobello Market. The area was beautiful, and filled with unique shops and vibrantly painted homes. What was even more amazing was the market itself! There were endless amount of people buying fresh fruit and vegetables, and people bargaining for antique cameras and random crap.
I had my lunch at the market, which was a box of deep fried, heavily breaded prawns, scallops, crab meat, and something else that I could not identify...hmm... oh well.. just tasted like fish cake.
There were many amazing food stands and fruit that I have never seen! Donut Peaches?! And what's a Chyantis?!
After lunch, we paid a visit to the British Museum in the SoHo district. The museum from the outside looked just about how you anticipate a National Museum to look like, but once you step inside to the central hall, the place is breath-taking. Now I am not a huge fan of museums, but a few things did catch my attention; the Rosetta Stone. How can you not be impressed with this?!
There were also a few rooms full of Egyptian artifacts that were quite neat.
We capped the night off by visiting the Gay part of town, to get a feel of what London Pride is like! Boy was that a mistake! Never seen so much garbage all over the streets! Empty bottles, empty cups, drunk straights, gays, lesbians, and drag queens! It was a M-E-S-S!
We met up with a friend and had dinner on Old Compton Street, and afterwards, finding a bar to go to without having a line up in the rain was impossible, so we ditched it.
